Devon Rex pedigree cat cattery Kotki Kędziorki*PL

Hello, hi – we are Aneta and Mariusz Kędziora.

Together, as a family, we run a small, home-based* Devon Rex cattery called Kotki Kędziorki*PL (the cattery name is a reference to our surname and the characteristic coat of Devon Rex cats – slightly curly).

Cattery established in 2021. It is fully professional and legal (more information below). But we do not make our living from it, we do not breed animals in bulk; it is our hobby, passion and love.

We do everything we can to ensure that our cats are healthy, happy, and properly prepared for their new family (they are very well socialized, taught from an early age to use the scratching post and litter tray).

The kittens grow up in our home with children (12 and 18 years old) and other cats.

They are part of our family, where we devote a great deal of time, attention, and love to them. They grow up participating actively in our lives and even help with household chores 😉 They sleep with us and the children in our beds (or wherever they feel like it). They are resilient to everyday household bustle and a variety of sounds.

The cats in our home are not isolated and have full access to the entire space of our home (almost 200 m2 house + 70 m2 of built-in, glass-enclosed terrace), so there is plenty of room for play and antics. But also enough space to always find a quiet place for themselves when they need it. Thanks to this, they grow up to be open, trusting, sociable cats.

In most cases they love to cuddle, be petted, and never leave your lap (or shoulders); they also like to sleep with their humans. Details of each kitten's personality are provided in their descriptions.

The cats in our cattery are fed BARF (raw meat with supplements) – and this is the diet we recommend in new homes. However, we know that this is not a feeding method for every Owner, so we also teach young kittens to eat high-meat wet food (MjAMjAM and Wild Freedom) as well as premium, grain-free dry food (Farmina N&D Prime). Read our article What and how should you feed your cat? A guide to cat food. More details about what our cats use in the cattery can be found on the dedicated page Cat shopping – what does a cat need?

*For us, the term “small home-based cattery” is not a marketing slogan, but a description of reality. It is „home-based” because the cats live with us – not next to us, not “upstairs,” not in cages, not in a separate room or even a separate building. They take part in our daily life, sleep with us, grow up with children, and are present for all the household noises and rituals. They have the whole house and a large, safe terrace at their disposal – so they never lack space to run, play, and unwind. Our cattery is also “small” because we have only a few queens, we observe litter limits (and often have fewer than the rules allow), we do not breed cats “for quantity,” and we do not treat breeding as a source of income. We have a waiting list for our kittens (sometimes even a year) even though, with more cats and litters, we could simply make money faster. But for us, this is passion and responsibility. We take our cats to shows, regularly continue our education, take part in courses, and talk to more experienced breeders – because we care about the development of the breed, not just pretty kitten photos (although we have those too and love them very much). We also educate people interested in adoption (through articles, guides, etc.) – because we want them to make an informed decision and know what they are signing up for.

Our principles

At Kotki Kędziorki*PL:

Kotki Kędziorki*PL – because not every cat is a Devon Rex. And not every cattery is Kotki Kędziorki.

Our cats and us

See in a few photos how our cats fit into our lives and how good it is for them with us, and for us with them 🙂

Official Devon Rex cattery (FPL, FIFe, WCC)

FPL cattery registration certificate

Kotki Kędziorki*PL Cattery is an official, legal, and registered cattery of Devon Rex cats and belongs to:

We are also a cattery officially registered with the Veterinary Inspectorate by the District Veterinary Officer with the assigned veterinary identification number: 1418 9957 (by the decision of the District Veterinary Inspectorate in Piaseczno no. 115/2026).

So, as you can see – we are a fully legal cattery, issuing original and fully valid pedigrees (more on them in a moment).

You can read more about the breed itself on our dedicated subpage About the Devon Rex breed.

What kind of cattery should you buy a cat from?

What is the deal with these strange abbreviations like FPL, FIFe, WCC? If you dream of a pedigree kitten, make sure that the cattery where you want to buy it is under the auspices of the world organization WCC, or World Cat Congress.

It brings together international organizations, four of which operate in Poland: FIFe, WCF, TICA and CFA (the last of these has no clubs in Poland). In the case of FIFe, its Polish representative is FPL, that is the Polish Felinological Federation. And FPL has more than 20 associations and clubs, and our cattery belongs to one of them (C4C).

And this is what the whole tree of catteries, clubs, associations, federations, and unions looks like. Our cattery (as we wrote above) belongs to C4C, FPL and FIFe.

Diagram of the WCC organization and the federations (FIFe, WCF, TICA, CFA) and associations operating in Poland.

Pedigrees

A pedigree is an official document confirming the origin of a pedigree cat. It is issued by the recognized feline organizations described above (when buying a cat, you should consider only catteries that issue a pedigree with their logo.), and it serves as a kind of “ID card” for the cat, containing information about its ancestors, breed, and cattery.

For the buyer, it is not just an ordinary piece of paper or a breeders' invention. A pedigree is a guarantee of the cat's pedigree origin (with specific ancestors and genetic history), a purchase from a legal cattery, and meeting the breed standard (rather than merely resembling „a cat of the breed type”).

To sum up – dear future cat owners – remember that there are NO pedigree animals without a pedigree! Every pedigree cat from a legal cattery should have a pedigree, and if you are buying a cat make sure you receive it, absolutely, without any additional conditions.

Read more about pedigrees in our guide titled Cat pedigree – what is it and why is it important? There you will also see examples of what a pedigree looks like, what it contains, how to read it, and how it is secured.

*Note: Unfortunately, due to shortcomings in the Animal Protection Act, it has been possible for many different associations to be created, which also have the right to issue their own „pedigrees” and can legally sell ANY cat with such a document, even if the parents merely resemble a given breed. That is why it is so important to check whether the issued pedigree comes from one of the WCC organizations (i.e. FIFe, WCF, TICA, CFA). Also see the page that lists associations that are NOT members of any WCC organization, yet still operate in Poland – it is best to stay well away from them…

HEALTH and veterinary care of the cattery

We take the health of all our cats very seriously.

In our cattery there has NEVER BEEN ringworm, FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), FIV (the feline equivalent of human HIV), parasitic diseases (giardia, toxoplasmosis, tapeworms, roundworms); none of our cats have ever had cat flu (caused by the FHV-1 and FCV viruses), feline leukemia (caused by the FeLV virus), feline panleukopenia (caused by the FPV virus), chlamydia, or rabies.

All our cats are under the care of the near-Warsaw Redline Veterinary Clinic, which is open 24/7 and 10 minutes from our home – so we always have immediate access to any help we need and professional support.

Redline Veterinary Clinic

We are cared for by several very experienced veterinarians:

The pregnancies of our queens are managed and supervised by perhaps the most highly regarded reproduction expert in Poland – Professor Piotr Jurka (from the Ginvet), author and co-author of around 150 scientific publications in Poland and, above all, abroad; a speaker at many Polish and international conferences; and a teacher of many generations of students and doctoral candidates. He is a professor in the Department and Clinic of Small Animal Diseases at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW).

Redline Clinic also registers our animals in the Safe-Animals database and, if needed, issues cat passports (for an additional fee, but we can handle the entire process before the kitten is purchased).

At Redline Clinic we carry out all examinations, vaccinations (with a combination vaccine against FPV, FCV and FHV-1), deworming, microchipping, and neutering.

Table of diseases, pathogens and vaccines (summary)

For those interested, here is a very brief summary of feline diseases (and their names/abbreviations often appearing in discussions), the pathogens that cause them, and the vaccines that should or can be used. Some diseases have no vaccines or vaccination is not recommended (e.g. FIP, FIV, FeLV).

In our cattery, we vaccinate cats against the first 3 diseases (marked in green) and, optionally (on request), for those who want a passport and plan to travel abroad, we also vaccinate against rabies (marked in blue).

Neutering in our cattery!

In the context of neutering – an important note – our cattery neuters kittens BEFORE they leave us! And we make no exceptions to this policy.

This has many benefits for the buyer:

Early neutering (after 7 weeks, before 5 months of age) has many benefits for the cats themselves, because they are not exposed to the hormones associated with sexual maturity. Female cats avoid the risk of many diseases such as pyometra, ovarian cysts, or mammary chain tumors. In male cats, it eliminates urine marking, loud vocalizing, and attempts to escape from the home. Cats are also not aggressive or overstimulated.

If you would like to read more about neutering cats and the benefits of early neutering (after 7 weeks and before 5 months of age), we recommend the very detailed and comprehensive article by veterinarian and animal science engineer Karolina Kijek, who has her own cattery and veterinary practice, as well as the article written by Beata Szadurska, a behaviourist and feline behaviour therapist who also once had her own cattery.

We invest in development (training)

We know how important continuous learning, i staying up to date with the latest information on breed standards and genetics, kitten development, law, behaviour, and feline behaviourism (including adding another cat to the household and stress) is.

That is why we regularly take part in various courses and workshops. Below you can see a few of our certificates from these trainings.

Litters in our cattery

In our cattery, we very strictly follow breeding ethics and regulations. Our girls have a maximum of the regulation-allowed 3 litters within 2 years – they have time to rest and recover. Of course, this sometimes means you may have to wait longer for one of our kittens (read about kitten availability in our cattery) but these are our values in this area 🙂

If you would like to see all litters from our cattery, with birth details and parents, please visit the dedicated subpage Our litters.

On the other hand, on the Available kittens page you can see whether and which currently kittens we have available for sale.

Current updates (and more photos) from our cattery can be found on:

Reviews of the cattery

We very much hope that our passion and love for cats and our cattery can be seen in our relationships with the new parents of our kittens.

We do our best to make it the best possible – from answering many questions before the final decision, through sending photos of already reserved growing kittens, maintaining constant contact and visits to the cattery, to a stress-free kitten pickup and support after purchase.

Many people leave their positive reviews – they appear next to each specific kitten that has found a new home.

And below is a selection of a few of the latest reviews (you can find all reviews on the dedicated subpage Reviews of Kotki Kędziorki*PL):

Great cattery. Each kitten receives individual care, concern, and even love. Our Findus [name in the new home; in the cattery it was Kiwi - breeder's note] has been with us for half a year. He is healthy, joyful, and simply fantastic. Thank you!

The Kotki Kędziorki cattery, which we found while searching the internet, is a site created by cat lovers where you will find an answer to every question about the Devon Rex breed. A unique place with wonderful people.

After the very first phone call, we knew this would be the cattery we would buy our kitten from. Mrs Aneta is an exceptionally lovely woman, and you could immediately feel her passion and love for kittens.

After reserving our kitten, we were showered with photos and videos, so throughout the entire period from our kitten growing up until pickup, we felt as if the kitten was growing up with us.

On the day we collected our kitten, the cattery owners welcomed us very warmly into their home. The cats living with the owners, running around the house, will always stay in our memory. Every question we had was answered, and that is still true to this day. When we collected our kitten, we received a very generous starter pack.

A cattery with heart, commitment, and time devoted to socialisation, thanks to which our kitten was friendly with us from the very first moment in our home, was not afraid of us, and eagerly explored every corner of our house.

Thanks to the Kotki Kędziorki cattery and the wonderful owners who run it, we received our wonderful dream kitten Coco. He is the apple of the eye of our daughter Ola and ourselves, our love, and he is with us everywhere 😀

In our opinion, this is one of the best catteries in Poland. We highly recommend it.

We discovered the Kotki Kędziorki cattery thanks to the DDTVN program; it was there that we saw the beautiful cats - both little and big ones.

The website run by the owners is very clear and answers all the questions future owners may have. Contact with the cattery owners is very natural.

Our girl Lili is a wonderfully socialised, litter-trained little girl; she settled in with us very quickly. We recommend this cattery!

We wholeheartedly recommend the Kotki Kędziorki cattery!

From the very beginning, the whole process was clear, transparent, and very professional. We easily found all the information on the website, and contact with the breeders was prompt and warm; even before making a reservation, we received answers to every question and felt truly well looked after.

After the reservation we received regular photos and videos, which let us watch our kitten grow. And when we picked him up, a huge surprise was waiting for us: we received an enormous starter kit: a scratching post, various kinds of food, his favorite toys, bowls, and many other useful things. Everything was perfectly prepared and thoughtfully put together.

The kitten immediately felt at home with us; he is brave, outgoing, very sociable, and incredibly affectionate. You can see that he was raised with love and care. Even after pickup, the breeders checked on how he was settling in and whether everything was all right—we truly appreciate that.

We couldn't have imagined a better place, for our kitten to come from ❤️

We wholeheartedly recommend this cattery! The cats are beautiful, healthy, and very sociable—you can immediately see that they are loved. They quickly settle into a new home and are wonderfully sweet, especially with children.

The owners provide wonderful conditions for the kittens and truly take care of every detail when raising the little ones. You can always count on them—they stay in touch practically all the time and are happy to help whenever needed.

We are very grateful for the support and care. We are already thinking about another kitten from this place!

P.S. Jaśminka's parents :)
