I have come across different opinions, so I would like to clear up my doubts.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Under the post a multitude of replies from breeders appeared, who wrote clearly: early neutering is today a standard in many responsible catteries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n And indeed – we too neuter our kittens before release (around 14 weeks) and have for years been very glad of this solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unfortunately, comments also appeared along the lines of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201eBreeders do this only so that others cannot make money on breeding cats\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n This is not only untrue, but also a considerable misunderstanding of the topic. Early neutering is not a \u201eblockage\u201d – it is above all a health, behavioral and responsibility tool<\/strong>, which serves the cat and the new family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this guide we explain, what early neutering really is, what science says and why we use it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Early neutering (early spay\/neuter) means a procedure performed before reaching sexual maturity<\/strong>, usually:<\/p>\n\n\n\n In our cattery we usually perform it at around the 14th week<\/strong>, that is, when the kitten is already stable, well developed, healthy (after dewormings, vaccinations and chipping<\/a>) and ready to change homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yes – and this is very well documented today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Contemporary research and veterinary organisations confirm that with a correctly performed procedure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Early neutering has for years been a standard, among others in: the USA, Canada, Australia, animal welfare organisations and shelters and many pedigree catteries around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n More and more experts in Europe support it too, especially in the context of domestic and \u201epet\u201d breeding cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Early neutering means that the cat does not enter the full stage of hormonal maturation, which carries real health benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Early neutering reduces the risk of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n It eliminates or significantly reduces:<\/p>\n\n\n\n These are not \u201eupbringing problems\u201d – they are the natural effects of hormones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Early neutering is also an enormous plus for a cat's everyday life at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A cat that does not go through a strong hormonal storm:<\/p>\n\n\n\n In practice this means less stress for the cat and the owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In our cattery neutering before release is a standard and we make no exceptions, because this solution has enormous advantages for the buyer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is simply convenient, safe and honest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n No!<\/strong> Early neutering is not done so that \u201esomeone cannot breed the cat\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is done so that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a standard in modern ethical breeding of pedigree cats \u201eto love\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you want to read more scientifically and in detail, we highly recommend:<\/p>\n\n\n\n These are great sources, which show that early neutering is a decision backed by practice and knowledge, and not a \u201ewhim\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In our cattery we perform early neutering routinely (around 14 weeks).
